About Me

As Placement and Recruitment Co-ordinator for the MA in 'Film and Television: Research and Production' at the University of Birmingham, I am committed to sourcing valuable work experience opportunities for our students and developing strong links between the MA and industry, within the West Midlands and beyond.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and enjoy developing my teaching practice through the employability focus of my role, in addition to embedding sustainability initiatives.   If you work in production (TV, film, digital and anything in between!) and would be interested in finding out more about supporting our students through placements, please get in touch. I am passionate about retaining creative talent in Birmingham.   I am also a published writer, available for freelance copywriting and proofreading work. My first eBook, "The Holocaust: History in an Hour" was published in November 2013 and is also available as downloadable audio. My second eBook, a short biography of Anne Frank, was released as a Kindle Single in September 2015. I have also had a travel piece published in The Telegraph (2017) and short paragraphs in two of The Guardian's "Readers' Tips" sections (2021, 2022).

As of October 2018 I am undertaking a part-time audio-visual PhD, looking at screen representations of Birmingham.   Specialties: writing, relationship management, placement coordination, CV and applications advice, employer liaison, proof-reading, editing, research, copywriting, social media, administration, video production, video editing.
