I am a photographer from Birmingham with a passion for creativity and I am keen to carve out a career within the industry. I have developed my experience by volunteering for charitable organisations such as The Royal British Legion where I volunteered my time for the day to help photograph an event known as The Poppy Quest. My main role of the day was to take images of the participants as they undertook the sponsored walk around the sites of Birmingham City Centre.
Subsequently, this event allowed me to gain valuable experience of photographing an event and then undertaking the post production process that is editing. Through this it enabled me to gain further voluntary work with another charitable organisation, the YMCA. Within this I have covered a range of events, examples of which include a community bbq. I have also helped to photograph smaller events such as art classes a birthday party and garden projects. Most recently I was tasked with photographing a meeting between the MP for Erdington Jack Dromey and a staff member of the YMCA. Notably I have also covered an annual awards ceremony photographing the attendee's and the award winners.
Aside from my event photography, the YMCA have also allowed me to gain experience of shooting professional staff portraits and I have also been tasked with photographing the facilities at their Erdington site. This included the coffee shop known as Eden and their conference spaces. Overall, the valuable experience that I have gained has given me the motivation to further my career and look for more photography work.
