John Bretherton

John is an experienced and fast working DOP based in between London and Madrid working for productions companies such as Iconoclast, RSA-Black Dog Films, Caviar, BBC drama. ​John's most recent feature film entitled, Come Home, is a psychological horror set in upstate New York. The movie stars Camilla Rutherford in a leading role. The original score for the movie was created by Orri Páll Dýrason of Sigur Rós. Film set for release 2020. ​John is an expert of handheld cinematic aesthetics and with a natural gift of finding beauty in any location and creating a filmic look to suit. Aside from working in narrative, John has a passion for the arts from the Classics to Avant-garde and is a keen painter himself. He is also still following his interest in humanity, anthropology and world events. ​John has attended courses at the NFTS and the London Film Academy and is a member of BAFTA Crew and a BSC club member.
