About Me

A BBC-Trained Self-Shooting PD / Director / EP skilled at shooting Obs-Doc and Fact-Ent. material for major broadcasters in the UK and North America. My work experience is vast and covers sensitive access, government agencies and challenging workplace environments all over the globe.

The majority of my work is on long-term location shoots as a lone operator or in small PD teams, often filming first-time contributors doing difficult jobs in challenging situations.  Whatever the subject, I’m passionate about using sensitive direction to draw out each contributor’s character within a visually compelling story.  I relish the challenge of capturing the unique essence of each environment and have a flexible shooting style that covers pure observational documentary through to directed set-piece scenes and high-end master interviews.

Adept at managing and directing multi-unit camera crews (synch, DOP, drones & minicams), my recent work as Location Series Producer required me to formulate series-wide story arcs across 21 episodes of TV whilst running large location teams in hazardous workplace environments.   I direct /shoot edit-flexible material to suit each commission’s brief, regularly Edit Produce and can wrangle any material into engaging content, on time and in budget.
